The Tahoka Bulldogs fought the good fight in their overtime game against the Sundown Roughnecks on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Roughnecks by a score of 37-35. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Tahoka has suffered yet this season.
Allie McCormick was her usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and ten steals for Sundown. That makes it seven consecutive games in which McCormick has scored at least a third of Sundown's points. Camry Jourden was another key contributor, scoring two points along with 12 rebounds and nine steals.
This is the second loss in a row for Tahoka and nudges their season record down to 8-9. As for Sundown, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 14-11 record this season.
Tahoka will head out on the road to challenge Seagraves at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Seagraves has now lost 11 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 17. As for Sundown, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Plains at 6:00 p.m.
