Liberal's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Zayden Martinez, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds. Another player making a difference was J. Brooks Kappelmann, who scored nine points along with eight rebounds.
Dodge City's victory ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-4. As for Liberal, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
Dodge City will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Maize at 7:00 p.m. Liberal will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Woodward at 7:00 p.m. on January 26th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in their respective states (Woodward is ranked 225th in Oklahoma, while Liberal is ranked 207th in Kansas).
