The Cambridge Christian Lancers won the last time they faced the Foundation Christian Academy Panthers, and things went their way on Tuesday too. Cambridge Christian enjoyed a cozy 62-47 win over Foundation Christian Academy.
Leading Cambridge Christian to victory were Zay Burton and Caden Martinez. Burton scored 20 points, while Martinez scored 21 points. Burton continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Andrew Proffitt, who scored six points.
Micah Sanders and Caleb Hagan certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Sanders dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten rebounds, while Hagan scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and four blocks. That was a full 36.2% of Foundation Christian Academy's points, marking the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Correy Stevenson, who scored eight points.
The win got Cambridge Christian back to even at 7-7. As for Foundation Christian Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.
Cambridge Christian will head out on the road to square off against Zephyrhills Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Foundation Christian Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Florida College Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Florida College Academy presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Foundation Christian Academy in Florida (Florida College Academy is ranked 298th, while Foundation Christian Academy is ranked 622nd).
