Even though The Northeast Vikings have not done well against the Pinellas Park Patriots recently (they were 1-6 in their previous seven matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Northeast walked away with a 48-38 victory over Pinellas Park. Winning may never get old, but Northeast sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Northeast's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Javeyon Mckenzie, who picked up 95 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Mikale Washington was in the mix as well, providing Northeast with two touchdowns.
Despite the loss, Pinellas Park still got an impressive performance from Emarian Triplett, who rushed for 196 yards and four touchdowns. Triplett is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jaden Casanova, who rushed for 20 yards and a touchdown.
Even if they lost, Pinellas Park's defensive line sure didn't make it easy: Northeast's QB was sacked five times before it was all said and done. Northeast's QB won't forget Ernest Charles anytime soon given Charles sacked him five times.
Northeast's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-3. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.0 points per game. As for Pinellas Park, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northeast will take on Largo at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Largo will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. As for Pinellas Park, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Seminole at 7:30 p.m. Seminole is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak.
