Bowen/Baker College Prep took care of business in their home opener on Saturday (and then some). They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Little Village Phoenix 36-0 at home. This was payback for the Boilermakers and Bobcats, who suffered a 14-8 loss the last time these two teams met.
Bowen/Baker College Prep had a senior duo take command as Caleb Wright picked up 110 receiving yards and two touchdowns and Larreon Watkins threw for 85 yards and two touchdowns. Wright got the majority of those yards when he pulled down a pass and and took off for a gain of90 yards. Sion McKay was in the mix as well, providing Bowen/Baker College Prep with two touchdowns touchdowns.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bowen/Baker College Prep will hit the road for the first time this season to challenge Steinmetz College Prep at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday.
