Strother will challenge Maud on the road at 7:30 PM on Friday. If the contest is anything like the 36-44 finish from the last time they met, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.
Last Thursday, Strother put the finishing touches on their 4th blowout victory of the season. They made easy work of Canadian and carried off a 60-30 victory. Senior Zach Roach was the offensive standout of the match for Strother, as he caught passes for 156 yards and 3 touchdowns.
Meanwhile, we expected Maud to have trouble with the significantly higher-ranked Weleetka, and they did. Maud found themselves the reluctant recipients of an unpleasant 22-52 punch to the gut against Weleetka.
Strother's win lifted them to 4-4 while Maud's loss dropped them down to 3-5. Maud's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Strother defensive front that amassed nine sacks against Canadian, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
