The Lake Hornets's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 57-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of McLaurin.
Michael Wallace was his usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with nine rebounds and five assists for McLaurin. Another player making a difference was Treshun Watts, who scored four points along with seven rebounds.
Lake has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for McLaurin, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season.
Lake will be playing in front of their home fans against Clarkdale at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. McLaurin will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Seminary at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Seminary is out to stop a six-game streak of losses at home.
