Baseball Recap: Wayne Wins Going Away Against Wewoka

Wayne got themselves on the board against Wewoka on Monday, but Wewoka never followed suit. Everything went their way against the Wewoka Tigers as they made off with a 16-0 victory. The Bulldogs have beaten the Tigers the last three times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Tigers has come to flipping the script.

Wayne got a massive performance out of Ben Fisher, who scored two runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. What's more, Fisher posted two RBI, the most he's had since back in March of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Lane Lewis, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

Wayne's win bumped their record up to 2-0.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wayne will host Springer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Wewoka, they will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on Sasakwa at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Wewoka is coming into the match on a four-game losing streak dating back to last season.
