After flying high against the Kerr-Vance Academy Spartans last Friday, the Harrells Christian Academy Crusaders came back down to earth. Harrells Christian Academy took a 66-60 hit to the loss column at the hands of E.E. Smith. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
When it comes to explaining why Harrells Christian Academy lost on Monday, one person who can't be blamed is Dashaun Mckoy. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double on 24 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Antonio McKoy, who scored 14 points along with seven rebounds and four steals.
E.E. Smith got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Decarlo Brunson out in front who scored 19 points along with six rebounds and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Asany Richmond, who scored 13 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Harrells Christian Academy's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for E.E. Smith, their win bumped their record up to 5-6.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harrells Christian Academy will take on Fayetteville Academy at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Fayetteville Academy will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak. As for E.E. Smith, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Terry Sanford at 7:30 p.m. Hopefully Terry Sanford focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 last Saturday.
