The Vandegrift Vipers entered their tilt with the Round Rock Westwood Warriors with nine consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with ten. Vandegrift claimed a resounding 38-7 victory over Round Rock Westwood at home. Fans of Vandegrift have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season ended as a blowout.
Brendan Fournier was a one-man wrecking crew for Vandegrift as he rushed for 152 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. Fournier was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 52 yards. Kent Sullivan was another key contributor, rushing for 62 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Despite the loss, Round Rock Westwood still got an impressive performance from Lane Wood, who picked up 103 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Vandegrift pushed their record up to 10-1 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Round Rock Westwood, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 7-3.
Vandegrift will face off against Lake Travis at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Lake Travis will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 49th, while Vandegrift is ranked eighth). Round Rock Westwood does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
