Bogalusa has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge The Sumner Cowboys at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Louisiana (Bogalusa is ranked 124th, while Sumner is ranked 135th).
Bogalusa's 8-2 record from last season is now well into the rear view mirror after another tough outing. They took a 16-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of Amite two Fridays ago.
Meanwhile, Sumner had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four two Thursdays ago. They blew past Slaughter Community Charter, posting a 46-14 win at home.
The opposite results left the teams with opposite records: Sumner's victory pushed their record up to 4-2, while Bogalusa's defeat dropped theirs down to 2-4.
Bogalusa strolled past Sumner in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 by a score of 46-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bogalusa since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
