There's no place like home for the Philip Scotties, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They walked away with a 45-32 win over Jones County on Tuesday. This was payback for Philip, who suffered a 53-23 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Philip's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Drew Terkildsen led the charge by scoring 11 points along with eight rebounds and six steals. Terkildsen is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Quinn Terkildsen, who scored eight points along with five steals.
Philip pushed their record up to 9-6 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Jones County, their loss dropped their record down to 7-9.
Philip will head out on the road to square off against Lyman at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Lyman presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Philip in South Dakota (Lyman is ranked 23rd, while Philip is ranked 90th). As for Jones County, they will square off against Bridgewater/Emery at 10:00 a.m. on Friday.
