If Holy Family wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Erie, they should've done a better job of containing Olivia Harris. Erie blew past Holy Family 3-0 on Tuesday thanks in part to Harris, who had 14 digs and four aces. She has been hot for a while, having posted two or more aces the last nine times she's played.
Erie got the W, but it wasn't easy, at least in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 31-29, 25-21.
Meanwhile, Mead came up short against Legacy on Tuesday and fell 3-1. The Mavericks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.
The final score came out to 25-23, 25-16, 24-26, 25-22.
Erie will have to contain Alana Costello as she made an impact in Mead's last game. She had 15 digs and two assists. Emmy Tecu was another key player, getting ten digs.
Mead's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Erie, their win bumped their record up to 10-2.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Thursday's matchup: Erie has really dialed in their serving this season, having averaged 12.2 aces per game. However, it's not like Mead struggles in that department as they've been averaging 10 aces. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Erie came out on top in a nail-biter against Mead in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, sneaking past 3-2. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Mavericks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
