Basketball Recap: Cape Henry Collegiate's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday

Cape Henry Collegiate lost against Norfolk Collegiate back in November of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cape Henry Collegiate Dolphins took a 44-34 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Norfolk Collegiate Mighty Oaks. The Dolphins' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Norfolk Collegiate's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Catherine Wells, who posted 12 points along with six rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Sanaa Coone, who earned eight points and seven boards.

Cape Henry Collegiate's loss dropped their record down to 3-2. As for Norfolk Collegiate, their win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-7.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cape Henry Collegiate will take on Steward at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Norfolk Collegiate, they will challenge Hampton Roads Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hampton Roads Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past five games -- so hopefully Norfolk Collegiate likes a good challenge.
