After flying high against the Cole Camp Blue Birds last Monday, the Russellville Indians came back down to earth. Russellville suffered a tough 69-43 loss at the hands of Tipton on Wednesday. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Russellville in their matchups with Tipton: they've now lost eight in a row.
Leading Tipton to victory were Charlee Bailey and Clara Williams. Bailey scored 24 points along with five rebounds and three steals, while Williams scored 19 points along with five assists and five rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which Williams has scored at least 25% of Tipton's points. Another player making a difference was Ava Schlotzhauer, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Russellville has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-6 record this season. As for Tipton, their win bumped their record up to 9-1.
Russellville will finish 2023 at home by hosting Green Ridge on Saturday. Green Ridge is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses. As for Tipton, they will head out on the road to face off against Concordia at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Concordia is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
