If Tri-Valley was riding high  fresh off their  47-11 takedown of Holy Rosary Academy on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Tri-Valley Warriors lost  73-53 to the Cook Inlet Academy Eagles on Friday. The Warriors were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Eagles apparently hadn't forgotten their  loss the last time these teams played  back in March of 2023.

 Tri-Valley's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Michael Renshaw, who  went 7 of 13  on his way to 17  points along with six  steals and five  assists. Renshaw is  crushing it when it comes to  steals: he's   grabbed at least two every time he's  taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of  Isaiah Mayo, who  went 6 for 10  en route to 16 points.
 Cook Inlet Academy was led to victory by  Ian McGarry and  Alek McGarry.  Ian  posted 29  points, while  Alek  had 20 points.  Zach Armstrong was another key player,  putting up ten  points.
Tri-Valley's loss dropped their record down to 5-2. As for Cook Inlet Academy, the  victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.
 Coincidentally,  the two teams will both be playing Birchwood Christian the next time they take the court. Tri-Valley will head out to face Birchwood Christian at 9:30  a.m.  on Saturday, while Cook Inlet Academy will play them later in the day, at 3:30  p.m.
