With a playoff game on the line, the Seton Catholic Cougars rose to the challenge on Saturday. They walked away with a 42-35 victory over the Bulldogs. Seton Catholic's victory was all the more impressive since Cashmere was averaging only 11.25 points allowed on the season.
Despite the defeat, Cashmere had strong showings from Rylan Hatmaker, who threw for 243 yards and four touchdowns while completing 77.3% of his passes, and Tyler Peterson, who gained 121 total yards and two touchdowns. Another player making a difference was Isaac Zavala, who gained 77 total yards and a touchdown.
The victory was the fifth in a row for Seton Catholic, bringing their record for this year to 11-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.6 points per game. As for Cashmere, their loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 11-1.
Seton Catholic will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Royal at 7:00 p.m. on November 25th. Royal will be coming into the contest with an undefeated record on the line. Cashmere does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
