Ferniza hasn't dropped below two steals for eight straight games. Another player making a difference was Ardajah Fletcher, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds and three steals.
Homestead's victory was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-2. As for South Miami, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Homestead will be playing in front of their home fans against North Miami Beach at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for South Miami, they will head out on the road to challenge Coral Gables at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Allowing an average of 50.1 points per game, Coral Gables has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this game.
