The Kennedy Knights were the 44-37 winner over the West Milford Highlanders when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. Kennedy took a serious blow against West Milford on Saturday, falling 63-32. Kennedy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
When it comes to explaining why Kennedy lost, one person who can't be blamed is My'Shayla Clancy. Despite the final result, she almost dropped a double-double on 23 points and nine rebounds. Clancy is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down nine or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Perla Reyes, who scored six points.
Laurel Space was her usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with seven rebounds and two steals for West Milford. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Space has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Aubrey Fritz, who scored eight points along with two steals.
Kennedy's loss dropped their record down to 15-9. As for West Milford, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-8.
Kennedy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Passaic Valley at 4:30 p.m. Kennedy is facing Passaic Valley at the right time seeing as Passaic Valley is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for West Milford, they will head out on the road to take on Pascack Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
