Corsicana took a serious blow against Edgewood on Friday, falling 58-25. Corsicana was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-8.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Edgewood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kassidy Paul, who scored 22 points along with 9 rebounds. The matchup was Paul's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Blair McPherson, who scored 15 points along with 8 assists and 3 steals.
Corsicana's defeat dropped their record down to 13-9. As for Edgewood, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.
Corsicana will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Kaufman at 2:30 p.m. on December 9th. Kaufman presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Corsicana in Texas (Kaufman is ranked 342nd, while Corsicana is ranked 852nd). As for Edgewood, they will face off against Burnet at 3:45 p.m. on Friday. Burnet will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
