KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy suffered their biggest defeat since December 21, 2023 on Wednesday. They were beaten by the Maritime Academy Charter Seadogs 66-35. The matchup marked KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy's lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sybir Brown, who went 5 for 8 en route to 12 points and six boards. Brown is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Joshua Patterson, who posted eight points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive rebounds. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their offensive rebound total in three consecutive games.

Jadin Aviles continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Maritime Academy Charter, going 9 of 13 on his way to 22 points along with five boards and five steals. With that strong performance, Aviles is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Jayriel Arroyo was another key player, going 5 for 12 en route to 12 points and three steals.

KIPP DuBois Collegiate Academy moved to 8-5 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Maritime Academy Charter, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-12.
