On Wednesday, the Arbor View Aggies faced the Silverado Skyhawks in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Arbor View walked away with a 77-66 victory over Silverado. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Arbor View's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Pharaoh Compton, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and six blocks. Compton is on a roll when it comes to blocks, as he's now posted two or more in the last 12 games he's played. DeMarion Yap was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Arbor View has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season. As for Silverado, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 14-9.
Arbor View will head out on the road to challenge Desert Pines at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Desert Pines will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nevada Rankings (they are ranked 26th, while Arbor View is ranked fourth). As for Silverado, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Spring Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Spring Valley is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
