Samantha Cook made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching seven innings while giving up three earned runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Madeline Jeanblanc was incredible, going 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Saige Block was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two runs.
Arlington typically has all the answers at home, but on Saturday Valley Christian proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Lions by a score of 7-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Defenders.

On the hitting side, Aubrielle Ramirez and Choyce Chambers did most of the damage at the plate: Ramirez went 1-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run, while Chambers went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double. Those three RBI gave Ramirez a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Britton Brown, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Valley Christian, their record is now 18-6-1.
