The Banneker Trojans's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Chapel Hill Panthers at 6:00 p.m. on February 12th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Friday, Banneker ended up a good deal behind Tri-Cities and lost 51-34. While losing is never fun, Banneker can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 395th, while Tri-Cities is ranked 121st).
Meanwhile, Chapel Hill had to suffer through a rough 63-33 loss at the hands of Creekside. Chapel Hill has not had much luck with Creekside recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Chapel Hill's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Emahni Chambliss, who scored 19 points along with two steals, and Bryale Thomas who scored six points along with five rebounds. Chambliss has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last 17 times she's played.
Banneker has not been sharp recently as the team has lost 14 of their last 15 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-21 record this season. As for Chapel Hill, their defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 5-19.
Banneker came up short against Chapel Hill in their previous meeting two weeks ago, falling 67-55. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Chambliss, who scored 42 points along with six steals and five rebounds. Now that Banneker knows the damage she can cause, will they be able to stop her this time? There's only one way to find out.
