The Boaz Pirates will face off against the Fort Payne Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Boaz's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Thursday, when they got past Douglas' usually-dominant pitching crew. Boaz was the clear victors by a 12-1 margin over Douglas. The victory continues a trend for the Pirates in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now won five in a row.

Peyton Hall spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up six Ks. That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in April of 2024.
On the hitting side, Ava Rhoden was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-5. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (three). Another player making a difference was Bailey Lusk, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4.
Meanwhile, Fort Payne came tearing into Friday's match with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They put the hurt on the Titans with a sharp 11-2 win. The Wildcats might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by six runs or more this season.
Harleigh Morgan and Olivia Lee made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Morgan struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and only one walk). Meanwhile, Lee tossed four innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits. At bat, Morgan went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base, while Lee scored a run while going 2-for-4.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carley Cash, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and three RBI while going 4-for-4. The team also got some help courtesy of Baylee Green, who scored four runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4.
Fort Payne kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 5 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 contests they've averaged 11.8.
Fort Payne pushed their record up to 5-6 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Boaz, their win bumped their record up to 9-3.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Monday as neither team is afraid to steal. Boaz has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Fort Payne struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
