Given McQueen's advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 15th in Nevada, while Aspire Langston Hughes Academy is ranked 754th in California), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
McQueen found their leader in underclassman Kade Snyder, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 15 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Snyder has scored at least 25% of McQueen's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lucas Fabri, who scored 10 points.
When it comes to explaining why Aspire Langston Hughes Academy lost, one person who can't be blamed is Trey Willams. Despite the final result, he scored 10 points.
McQueen's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Aspire Langston Hughes Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-3.
McQueen will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Bradshaw Christian at 1:30 p.m. on December 2nd. Allowing an average of 58 points per game, Bradshaw Christian has struggled on the defensive end, but that doesn't have to be the case in this match. As for Aspire Langston Hughes Academy, they will face off against Lathrop at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday.
