The Red Lion Christian Academy Lions will head out on the road to face off against the Caravel Buccaneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Red Lion Christian Academy sitting on five straight wins and Caravel on nine.
Last Friday, Red Lion Christian Academy got themselves on the board against Newark, but Newark never followed suit. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the Yellowjackets 51-0 at home. The result was nothing new for Red Lion Christian Academy, who have now won five matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.
Geovanni Ramirez was the offensive standout of the matchup as he rushed for 83 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Jacque Wilson was in the mix as well, providing Red Lion Christian Academy with two touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Red Lion Christian Academy's defense and their five sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Xavier Moore and Shane Caleb who racked up five sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Caravel faced Delaware Military Academy in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Caravel walked away with a 16-8 win over Delaware Military Academy on Friday.
Red Lion Christian Academy pushed their record up to 7-2 with that win, which was their third straight at home. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Newark, Mount Pleasant, and Delaware Military Academy. As for Caravel, their win bumped their record up to 9-0.
Red Lion Christian Academy was dealt a bruising 35-7 defeat at the hands of Caravel in their previous matchup back in September of 2022. Can Red Lion Christian Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
