The Tapestry Thunderhawks had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They put the hurt on Western New York Maritime Charter with a sharp 81-59 win. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-17.
Despite the loss, Western New York Maritime Charter still got an impressive performance from Jamanye Corbett, who scored 35 points. Another player making a difference was Xavier Gonzalez, who scored 14 points.
Tapestry's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Western New York Maritime Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Tapestry will square off against East at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Western New York Maritime Charter, they will head out on the road to face off against Global Concepts at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
