North is 0-6 against Firestone since April of 2019 but things could change on Thursday. The Vikings will head out to face off against the Falcons at 5:00 p.m. North has given up an average of 17 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Things were looking good for North after they put the first run on the board on Tuesday, but unfortunately for them things went downhill from there. They took a 13-9 hit to the loss column at the hands of Garfield.
Meanwhile, Firestone entered their tilt with Buchtel on Tuesday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over the Griffins. The Falcons might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by six runs or more this season.
Nate Plas was a major factor no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Plas was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other pitching news, Jason Chestnut looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2025.
Back at the plate, Firestone got a massive performance out of Nate McGuire, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. McGuire is becoming a predictor of the Falcons' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is undefeated (and 1-4 when he doesn't). Jose Uzcategui was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
Firestone kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Buchtel only managed one.
North's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Firestone, their record now sits at 8-4.
North might still be hurting after the 27-0 loss they got from Firestone in their previous meeting on April 13th. Can the Vikings avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
