The Dr. Krop Lightning will face off against the Miami Beach Hi-Tides at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Dr. Krop will be strutting in after a victory while Miami Beach will be coming in after a loss.
Dr. Krop barely beat Reagan the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Dr. Krop's pitcher stepped up to hand Reagan a 12-0 shutout on Friday. The contest marked the Lightning's most dominant win of the season so far.
Marco Loreto made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Those runs marked the first that he scored this season.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Esaul Pena, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run, four stolen bases, and three RBI. He also scored two runs, which is notable because Dr. Krop is 2-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 1-3 otherwise. Emmanuel Dominguez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with four RBI, one triple, and one run.
Dr. Krop always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .733. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Miami Beach unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 5-1 to Schoolhouse Prep.
Miami Beach also got a good showing from Daniel Garcia, who tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits.
At the plate, Lenonx Munoz was cooking despite his team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases.
Dr. Krop is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. Miami Beach now has a losing record of 4-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Dr. Krop has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Miami Beach struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Dr. Krop skirted past Miami Beach 2-1 in their previous matchup back in March of 2024. Does Dr. Krop have another victory up their sleeve, or will Miami Beach turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
