Even though the Joseph City Wildcats have not done well against the St. Michael Cardinals recently (they were 0-6 in their previous six matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Saturday. Joseph City walked away with a 46-37 victory over St. Michael. For Joseph City, this counts as revenge for the 36-35 loss St. Michael walked away with the last time they faced one another back in February of 2021.
Joseph City's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Ava Neill, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Gabrielle Jesmer was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five assists and three steals.
Joseph City's victory bumped their record up to 9-5. As for St. Michael, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 4-3.
Joseph City will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Blue Ridge at 1:30 p.m. on December 9th. Blue Ridge is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling. As for St. Michael, they will be playing at home against Ash Fork at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ash Fork will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 236th, while St. Michael is ranked 76th).
