There's no place like home for the Benicia Panthers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Monday. They walked away with a 73-64 win over College Park on Wednesday. Given Benicia's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 131st, while College Park is ranked 455th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Several Falcons players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Connor Whittles, who scored 16 points. Another player making a difference was Michael Wray, who scored 15 points.
Benicia is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. As for College Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-13.
Benicia will head out on the road to face off against Concord at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for College Park, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Berean Christian at 7:30 p.m. Berean Christian has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 8.
