Continental has gone a perfect 3-0 against Holgate recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Pirates will take on the Tigers in a tournament on Wednesday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Holgate will face off against a team with plenty of momentum: Continental extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday. The Pirates blew past Leipsic 9-1. The result was nothing new for the Pirates, who have now won seven games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Gracie Homier made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kenzie Searfoss, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games she's played. Ava Homier was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Holgate made easy work of Ottoville on Saturday and carried off a 14-1 win. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Tigers.
Like Continental, Holgate also got a great game from a two-way player: Lici Escamilla. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Escamilla was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Holgate got a big performance out of Markee Wilhelm, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most hits Wilhelm has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Lyndee Palte, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
Holgate always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .571. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Holgate's victory bumped their record up to 3-12. As for Continental, their win bumped their record up to 14-7.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Wednesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Continental has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Holgate struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.4 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Continental beat Holgate 5-2 when the teams last played back in April. Will the Pirates repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
