Salem Academy was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from eighth to sixth in 3A PacWest. Earlier in the week, the Crusaders defeated Jefferson 41-6.
Adding to the longest winning streak in the league this week, Harrisburg beat Santiam Christian 14-12. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Eagles.
Scio's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jordan Cooper threw for 63 yards and Brian Sarbeck had 62 yards receiving. On the ground Tyler Hull chipped in 147 yards. Logan Ferguson helped Scio's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 25 yards.
The Loggers' dynamic duo of Cooper and Sarbeck proved tough for Creswell to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Ferguson helped Scio's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 25 yards.
Hull was a passing and rushing force as Scio defeated the Bulldogs. Hull's key target this week was Sarbeck, who caught 2 passes for 62 yards.
Salem Academy's Carlin Ables and Nathan Schmidt have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. 6-3 quarterback Ables has thrown for 560 yards this season, while Schmidt has 10 catches for 382 yards. James Mask's team's Hull leads the league in rushing yards with 475.
One of 3A PacWest's premier quarterbacks will go head-to-head with its top pass rusher when Jim Stomps' team and the Loggers face off next week.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Blanchet Catholic takes on the Eagles. At the moment, the Cavaliers are in second, while Santiam Christian is in third.
There should be lots of points scored when Scio and the Crusaders face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, the Loggers comes in having scored 96 this season, while Salem Academy has scored 104. Scio scored 50 points last week as it topped Creswell.
Harrisburg moved up to 41 from 67 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Scott Phelps' team was able to move up by defeating Dave Lange's team 14-12.
