The Strasburg Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Wellington Eagles at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Strasburg has 11 straight wins, Wellington has 36 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Even though Y scored an imposing 59 points on Saturday, Strasburg still came out on top. Strasburg walked away with a 68-59 win over Y. Winning is a bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 13 more assists than your opponent, as Strasburg did.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Strasburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tyce Bollers, who scored 24 points along with three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Bollers has scored at least a third of Strasburg's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Velasco, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 13 rebounds.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-25, which was the final score in Wellington's tilt against Timnath on Tuesday. Wellington has not had much luck with Timnath recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Strasburg's win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1. As for Wellington, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-17.
Everything came up roses for Strasburg against Wellington in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 as the squad secured a 82-7 victory. With Strasburg ahead 54-2 at the half, the match was all but over already.
