The King's Academy Knights won the last time they faced the Tyler Classical Academy Eagles, and things went their way on Friday too. King's Academy enjoyed a cozy 55-38 win over Tyler Classical Academy.
Evan Hellwig continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with six steals and five rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Everett Hollis, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
Despite the defeat, Tyler Classical Academy saw an underclassman step up: John Cooksy scored 11 points.
King's Academy's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 8-16. As for Tyler Classical Academy, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost six of their last seven matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-9 record this season.
King's Academy will head out on the road to take on Marshall Christian Academy at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Tyler Classical Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Varsity Opponent at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
