The Brentwood Bruins put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They breezed by Independence at home to the tune of 28-0. The result was nothing new for Brentwood, who have now won five matchups by 20 points or more so far this season.
Brentwood can attribute much of their success to Gavyn Nelson, who rushed for 98 yards and two touchdowns, and also picked up 43 receiving yards. Another player making a difference was Baylor Hayes, who threw for 182 yards and two touchdowns.
Brentwood's victory was their tenth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 9-0. As for Independence, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
Brentwood will be playing at home against Ravenwood at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Independence, they will head out on the road to face off against Summit at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
