St. Edmund put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat the North Central Hurricanes 56-6. With the Fighting Blue Jays ahead 42-6 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Nathan Driggs continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 153 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 117 rushing yards. Another player making a difference was Nathan Zaunbrecher, who threw for 135 yards and a pair of TDs on only nine passes.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: St. Edmund was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 220 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 206 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.
St. Edmund's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Max Smith, Wiley Middlebrooks, and John Wesley Sonnier, who each picked up one sack apiece.
