Tippecanoe Valley has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Plymouth Pilgrims/Rockies at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Tippecanoe Valley focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight last Tuesday.
Tippecanoe Valley has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 20 points or more this season. Everything went their way against Rochester as Tippecanoe Valley made off with a 42-16 win. Given Tippecanoe Valley's advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Rochester is ranked 229th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Among those leading the charge was Macy Petersen, who scored 16 points along with 5 rebounds. Ava Egolf was another key contributor, scoring 5 points along with 5 steals.
Meanwhile, Plymouth earned a 50-37 win over Logansport last Monday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Plymouth to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sophie Miller, who scored 16 points along with 3 steals. That makes it two consecutive games in which Miller has scored at least 25% of Plymouth's points. Another player making a difference was Lena Jones, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
Tippecanoe Valley's victory was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 7-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.2 points per game. As for Plymouth, they now have a winning record of 4-3.
Everything went Tippecanoe Valley's way against Plymouth in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as Tippecanoe Valley made off with a 62-36 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Tippecanoe Valley since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
