Softball Recap: Bethlehem Wins Going Away Against Campbellsville

Bethlehem won the last time they faced Campbellsville and things went their way on Saturday too. Bethlehem blew past Campbellsville 15-4. Considering the Eagles/Banshees have won seven matchups by more than nine runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Alexis Hume made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She pitched four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-5.

In other batting news, Paige Miller was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Malorie Thiel, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and two runs.

Bethlehem always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .600. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Campbellsville only posted an OBP of .320.

Bethlehem's record is now 8-1. As for Campbellsville, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-5.

Looking ahead, Bethlehem is taking a road trip to square off against Elliott County at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Campbellsville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Washington County at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
