Softball Recap: Camp Point Central Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks at the plate in their last three matches, Camp Point Central finally came back down to earth on Tuesday. They lost 10-1 to the Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia Trojans. The pitching woes were uncharacteristic for the Panthers, who until this game were averaging four runs allowed.

Camp Point Central saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Karly Peters, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base. Another was Claire Huston, who got on base in two of her three plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Camp Point Central moved to 6-2 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-1.

Camp Point Central didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 18-2 victory against West Prairie on the 3rd. As for Triopia/Meredosia-Chambersburg/Virginia, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next match, a 14-3 loss against Carrollton on the 3rd.
