Volleyball Recap: Providence Academy Makes It Six in a Row at Home

Providence Academy had to skate by with only a one-set margin when they last took the court, which might have inspired the three-set drubbing they dealt Happy Valley on Friday. Providence Academy blew past Happy Valley 3-0.

Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Providence Academy took every set by at least 14 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-5, 25-8, 25-11.

Providence Academy's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madi Hatfield, who had eight aces and six digs. Those eight aces gave Hatfield a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ella Grace Burton, who had six aces and one assist.

Providence Academy's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-0. As for Happy Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.

Looking ahead, Providence Academy will face off against Tri-Cities Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Providence Academy are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Happy Valley, they will square off against Cherokee at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
