Viera (Fla.) lost to
Satellite (Satellite Beach, Fla.), 19-7.
After taking the lead on a field goal in the second quarter, the Scorpions led 10-7 at the half.
Satellite expanded its lead to 10 points entering the fourth quarter. SHS scored once in the quarter on a touchdown run.
The Hawks'
Caleb McDaniel was the standout player for his team. He threw one touchdown.
Viera's lone touchdown came on a 25-yard pass from McDaniel to
Ryan Ferland in the first quarter.
The Satellite Beach school got revenge for last year's 17-10 loss to VHS with the victory.
The win was a nice bounce back for the Scorpions, which lost to Melbourne last week, 14-13. The loss was the third in a row for the Hawks.
Satellite (1-1) will play a 5A District 13 game against Rockledge next week, while Viera (0-3) will take on Rockledge in a non-conference game.
