The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Newton Local in their matchups with the Blue Devils: they've now lost three in a row.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Brookville to victory, but perhaps none more so than Cole Crabtree, who scored 14 points along with three steals. Crabtree is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Braedan Smart, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Newton Local's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Brookville, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season.
Newton Local and the Greyhounds will face off at 7:15 p.m. on January 30th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. One thing working in Dixie's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four matches. As for Brookville, they will head out on the road to take on the Wildcats at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Franklin is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 52.9 points per game this season.
