Halls is 9-1 against Powell since April of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Red Devils will face off against the Panthers at 6:00 p.m. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Halls comes in on seven and Powell on four.
Halls is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Knoxville Central a 15-0 shutout on Tuesday. With that win, the Red Devils brought their scoring average up to 6.4 runs per game.
Alle Wilson looked comfortable as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than one walk in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Halls let Isabella Wires and Harper Bales run wild. Wires went 1-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Bales went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Those five RBI gave Wires a new career-high. Mackenzie Baker was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Halls always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .556. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Knoxville Central only posted an OBP of .143.
Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Powell challenged Campbell County on Tuesday. The Panthers blew past the Cougars 20-0. Considering the Panthers have won nine matchups by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Langston Coggins made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Coggins was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Emersyn Mayes was a standout: she went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. Another player making a difference was Gabby Kraatz, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double.
Halls' record is now 13-3. As for Powell, their record now sits at 14-4.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Halls hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .338. However, it's not like Powell struggles in that department as they've averaged .386. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Halls beat Powell 5-1 when the teams last played two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
