The biggest upset of the week belonged to Independence, who took down 182nd ranked Centennial, 41-40.
The Falcons moved up to 246 from 300 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Southwest Yosemite. Independence was able to make move up by defeating the Golden Hawks 41-40.
Centennial's dynamic duo of Reagan Enger and Andrew Daughtery proved tough for Sean McKeown's team to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Enger threw for 190 yards and one touchdown and Daughtery had 91 yards receiving. Jonathan Licea helped Centennial's passing attack out by catching one ball for 49 yards.
D.J. Martin was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 20 carries, he ran for 123 yards as Stockdale lost to the Falcons. Teammate Anthony Wood added to the ground attack by rushing for 60 yards.
5-foot-11 quarterback Josh Medina of Liberty is the league leader in passing yards this season with 1077. He has also thrown seven touchdowns. On the ground, the Mustangs' Martin has rushed for 1460 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Daughtery. The Centennial star has 41 catches for 563 yards.
The Patriots' Corbin Jountti is a mere 77 yards away from breaking the 1,000-rushing-yards mark for the season. Jountti has rushed for 923 yards on 122 carries so far this year.
A big matchup in Southwest Yosemite this week will be when Frontier takes on Stockdale. The Titans are in fourth place, while Mike Snow's team is in second place.
The Mustangs extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Liberty, 35-17. The victory was the fourth in a row for Stockdale.
