After flying high against the Belle Fourche Broncs last Saturday, the Custer Wildcats came back down to earth. Custer fell 63-56 to Spearfish on Thursday. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Spearfish's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Seth Hamilton, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and seven assists. Another player making a difference was Kamren Davis, who scored 13 points.
Custer's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for Spearfish, they now have a winning record of 8-7.
Custer will head out on the road to face off against Lead-Deadwood at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Spearfish, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Rapid City Christian at 7:30 p.m. Rapid City Christian has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,198 points over their last 16 matchups.
