Dominion is 2-7 against Loudoun Valley since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Dominion Titans will be playing in front of their home fans against the Loudoun Valley Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Dominion will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Virginia Rankings (they are ranked 265th, while Loudoun Valley is ranked 103rd).
Last Friday, Dominion took a serious blow against Tuscarora, falling 49-6. Dominion has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Meanwhile, Loudoun Valley's game on Friday was all tied up 14-14 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They took down Heritage 28-14. That's two games straight that Loudoun Valley has won by exactly 14 points.
Loudoun Valley found their leader in underclassman Macklin Gaffney, who rushed for 174 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 10.2 yards per carry. Gaffney was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 55 yards. Ethan Lafollette was another key contributor, rushing for 116 yards and a touchdown on only 15 carries.
Dominion's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Loudoun Valley, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six contests, which provided a massive bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Dominion took a serious blow against Loudoun Valley in their previous matchup back in September of 2022, falling 55-7. Thankfully for Dominion, Ashu Bertaut-Strange (who rushed for 100 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries, and also threw for 165 yards and two touchdowns while completing 84.2% of his passes) won't be suiting up this time.
