The Walker Wildcats will head out on the road to face off against the Archbishop Rummel Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Walker kicked off their season on the road on Tuesday and hit a couple of potholes. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 82-62 walloping at the hands of St. Thomas Aquinas.
Meanwhile, Archbishop Rummel had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 11.7 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. They put the hurt on South Terrebonne with a sharp 65-41 victory. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-19.
Jackson Cosentino was the offensive standout of the game as he went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 22 points and 3 assists. Tj Duhe was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Walker's loss dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Archbishop Rummel, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
Walker beat Archbishop Rummel 62-52 in their previous matchup back in December of 2018. Will Walker repeat their success, or does Archbishop Rummel have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
