The Creekside Seminoles will be playing at home against the Chapel Hill Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Creekside has now lost nine straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 15.
Creekside pushed their score all the way to 63 on Saturday, but even that wasn't enough to win. The matchup between Creekside and Mays wasn't particularly close, with Creekside falling 78-63. While losing is never fun, Creekside can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 439th, while Mays is ranked 69th).
Despite the loss, Creekside saw an underclassman step up: Cadence Burch scored 26 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Burch has scored all season. Tim Gaulden was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, even though Carrollton scored an imposing 62 points on Monday, Chapel Hill still came out on top. Chapel Hill took their matchup against Carrollton 74-62. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Chapel Hill.
Creekside's defeat was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 1-13. As for Chapel Hill, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.
Creekside was dealt a bruising 79-52 loss at the hands of Chapel Hill in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can Creekside avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
